Strong growth makes capacity expansion necessary

JUMO builds additional site in Industriepark West

An ultramodern site for two production areas will be built on the previously undeveloped JUMO site in Industriepark West near Rodges. The planned new building is a clear commitment to the Fulda location and to the further growth of the group of companies in the region.

At the end of 2013, JUMO acquired a 100,000-square-meter plot of land in Industriepark West near Rodges for a new sensor plant. In subsequent years, however, the purchase of the Morgensternhaus and the departure of Juchheim Börner GmbH have opened up completely new opportunities for further development of the existing JUMO sites. The new building project was therefore postponed.

However, developments in recent months have now led to a reassessment of the situation, as JUMO managing director and shareholder Bernhard Juchheim explains: "The temperature sensor and pressure measurement technology sectors are growing at an above-average rate at JUMO. At the same time, we are confronted with strong cost pressure here, which we must address through further improvements to production processes. These two challenges can no longer be met competitively at the existing locations by rebuilding. A new, ultra-modern and future-proof location will therefore be built for the two divisions and the associated logistics on the site in Industriepark West."

From the point of view of Managing Director and shareholder Michael Juchheim, this is the only logical step: "The new production site offers the opportunity for spatially flexible planning and the possibility to further optimize our entire production process. We want to continue to grow together with our employees at the Fulda site, and the property in Industriepark West offers sufficient space for the company's development over the next few years. This will enable us to respond even better and faster to market requirements in the future."

The decision for an additional production site is also the first step in the new planning process. "We are now starting the detailed planning process at full speed, which includes, among other things, a concrete time and cost framework," adds JUMO Managing Director Dimitrios Charisiadis.
